CNC Machining



CNC machining as the name suggests stands for Computer Numerical Control Machining.
CNC machining is a method of controlling machine tools to create sometimes basic and sometimes very complicated parts that can be used in almost any industry.
Detailed plans can be digitised by special computer programs.The programs produce a computer file which then produces the extract commands needed to operate a particular machine.  Once the commands are loaded into the CNC machines for production the machine automatically produces the product over and over again. CNC machining is perfect for producing hundreds or even thousands of identical products.

Inception of CNC Machining-
Initially fabrication of Metal working was done by NC i.e., Numeric Control before CNC (Computer Numeric Control) came into place. Development of these machines was done in the end of 1940s and beginning of 1950s. This development process was commissioned by the U.S. Airforce because they were looking for a less costly way to manufacture aircraft parts. As N.C. Machines helped in solving this issue they were used by everyone in the Industry post that.

Conceptualization of Computer Numeric Control started in 1967. It took five years for the basics of Computer Numeric Control to establish and finally in 1972 developments happening in the CNC Machining. It started flowering with execution of Computer Aided Designs. Some 4 years later first ever 3D CAD/CAM systems were launched in the market. It was finally by 1989 that industry observed CNC Machining being used and implemented by general audience.
